Following in his father’s footsteps, Benjamin Black is an award-winning composer, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He grew up in the Washington, D.C. area, playing piano and drums alongside his father — a composer, music teacher, and jazz and classical multi-instrumentalist — who began taking young Benjamin to hear live music in D.C. nightclubs at age nine. On school nights.
He studied and performed music at St. Paul’s School, Haverford College, and Stanford University, where he also earned his MBA.
Benjamin has composed and produced music for feature films, episodic television, movie trailers, advertising, commercial artists, and live shows, including producer Jerry Bruckheimer, supermodel Tyra Banks, Disney, Nike, ABC, Apple, Warner Bros., Fox Searchlight, and Universal Pictures.
He has been a BMI-registered composer and publisher since 2004 and is a former Voting Member of the Recording Academy (The Grammys).
